The Observatory of Threatened Theatres is still an idea. Making it a reality depends on you.

From this web page you can send us information about a threatened theatre. But even more important, you can initiate and/or collaborate in the actions taken to restore its lost dignity, to make it useful for the community once again.

Good monrning, first of all I must congratulate you for this wonderful website.
I am a spanish architect, I have created a blog to save a theater-cinema, located in Alcoy (Spain) that unafortunately has already been licesed to be demolished. A new building with parking and offices will replace the old building. At the moment the project is stopped (may be by the recession). I am showing you the blog, I have received 400 signatures from citizens who are against the new project. It is in Spanish but I can translate you any text. Please, have a look (www.salvemoselcinegoya.wordpress.com). May be we could work and help to each other. Thanks a lot for everything

I hear they’re going to renovate Lliure Gràcia, they’ve planning permission and funds, it’s just a matter of when. But what about poor old El Molino! (Paral.lel)

I saw in London’s East End the Wilton’s Music Hall:
"Despite being a vibrant heritage, arts and community venue Wilton’s desperately needs your help.
Wilton’s is semi-derelict. Only 40% of the space is safe, and in use. In its present condition Wilton’s is extremely vulnerable to vandalism and further decay. At the current rate of decay the building will cease to be accessible in the next three years."
    (from: http://www.wiltons.org.uk/)
and recently has been added to the World Monuments WATCH list, the 100 most endangered sites in the World. (www.wmf.org)
