We are glad to announce our presentation and workshop:
Theatres At Risk, a new Perspective for Recovering Abandoned Performing Art Facilities
at Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, October 26-29, 2011.
Pablo Guerra-Monje, Professor Theatre at UAFS, is a new member of TheatresAtRisk.org and will conduct the workshop during the Festival with the support of Antoni Ramon and Guillem Aloy.
Bio of Pablo Guerra-Monje:
After studying at the Escuela de Artes Aplicadas La Palma de Madrid (Applied Arts in sculpture), he enters the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramatico to study Scenography. In those years he is a founding member of the FELE; Frente Escenico de Liberacion Espacial (Scenic Front of Space Liberation). In the year 2000, he immigrated to the USA to study a Master in Fine Arts with concentration in Scenic Design at the University of Memphis. After that he joined a team to open the performing Arts Facilities at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and goes on to work the Santa Fe Opera as Electronic Libretto Director. After teaching at the High School level in Santa Fe and Portsmouth, New Hampshire, he was hired at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith to start a new bachelors program in Theatre Arts joining Bob Stevenson. During the last three years this Department has been awarded dozens of times at the State, Regional and National levels for his productions as part of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
